Hello, I'm Donna Williamson at Intrepid Counselling, I offer face-to-face and online counselling and psychotherapy services to help address challenges you're facing. Whether you're dealing with loss, bereavement, end-of-life issues, living with a lifelong disease, or caring for a loved one, I work alongside you at your own pace, in a safe and supportive environment. I utilize a range of creative tools to help you express and work through your emotions when words alone are not enough or to work at a deeper level.
Life can be isolating particularly if you are struggling. I offer to work side by side with my clients to address what it is you would like to work through. I can offer you a safe space to talk about what it is you want to change and discover together how to bring that change about.
I can help with;
I am a qualified, experienced professional who can provide you with the insights to make sense of your experience, a second pair of eyes to see things from a different perspective and the tools to deal with whatever the future may bring.
Together we can discuss and look at areas such as problem solving, strengths, weaknesses and resources, values, goals and aims, coping strategies and self-care, personal development in daily life through the enhancement of strengths, resources and functioning. The aim is to increase autonomy in relation to social, professional and cultural environment.
I am an Australian living in the UK for over 20 years and a keen traveller/explorer, hence the name Intrepid Counselling.
I am NCPS (National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society) Accredited, and I operate within the Code of Ethics and Professional Practice to help gain good mental wellbeing, increase self-awareness and work towards desired outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience
I hold a Diploma in Counselling in Transactional Analysis.
Currently studying to gain an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy.
I facilitate Support Groups for people living with Multiple Sclerosis at the Sussex MS Centre consisting of blocks of 10-12 weekly sessions throughout the year. Offering a safe place for people to talk about their problems and explore ways of acceptance, managing change and gaining self-confidence.
I also volunteer at St Wilfrid’s Hospice as a Bereavement Counsellor. Counselling Adults, children and young people (all neurodiverse). Talking therapy often includes using creative tools/play such as sand tray, playdough, string, stones, mood cards, paint, masks, games and many more, adapted to meet each client where they are, to assist with greater depth of work.
